Jacques-Rémy Girerd
Folimage
An animation enthusiast, in 1984 Girerd founded the Folimage studio, based in Valence, France, where he has remained as both a director and a producer. He has earned a name as a director thanks to films such as Amerlock (1988), L'enfant au grelot (1998) and the feature film La prophétie des grenouilles (2003). As producer, his name appears in the credits of several television series (Hilltop Hospital, 1999) and many short features: Le moine et le poisson (Michael Dudok de Wit, 1994), nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film, L'égoïste (Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol, 1996), Le roman de mon âme (Solveig von Kleist, 1997), Le trop petit prince (Zoia Trofimova, 2002), and four films co-produced with Canada's National Film Board: Zodiac (Oerd van Cuijlenborg, 2001), Francesc lo Valent (Carles Porta Garcia, 2003), Circuit marine (Isabelle Favez, 2003) and Tragic Story with Happy Ending (Regina Pessoa, 2005). He is currently shooting a second feature film, Mia et le Migou.
